Mark Rasch is a recognized expert on the risks and benefits of new technologies, cyber-security, data privacy, and all things digital.  He is the creator and former head of the United States Department of Justice’s Computer Crime Unit, and prosecuted or investigated dozens of computer hacker cases including the so-called “Cuckoo’s Egg” case of KGB/Stassi agents penetrating classified US government computers, the “Morris Worm” case in which a graduate student effectively shut down the Internet, the cases of Kevin Mitnick and Kevin Poulsen, the investigation of the Boston, MA “Craigslist Killer” murder case, and the investigation that lead to the prosecution of Bradley/Chelsea Manning/Wikileaks.  He has appeared on hundreds of occasions as an expert on legal, technology and privacy issues on NBC News, CNN, ABC, CBS, CBC, BBC, Fox News, as well as in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Reuters, AP and hundreds of publications.  He has spoken at conferences, panels and other forums on hundreds of occasions on topics related to the law, compliance, privacy, cyber security, incident response, public relations as well as on the future of the internet and the future of privacy.
