Jeff Martin

Description

Jeff Martin is an educational leader whose experience has covered the full range of K-12 education.  Beginning as a music teacher in inner-city Indianapolis, Jeff’s career has taken him to the suburbs of Boston and now to downtown Hartford, CT.  Jeff currently serves as Assistant Head of School at Covenant Preparatory School.  Through his experiences, Jeff has developed an interest and expertise in urban education and fostering cultural humility amongst students and school staff members.  Jeff has also researched ideas of identity-based pedagogy, where students’ major identities drive teaching practices in the classroom.  A classically trained singer, Jeff has performed nationally and internationally with choirs and other vocal groups, and he is also a composer of original musical works.  A fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, Jeff is married to Jessica, and they are parents to three children: Andrew, Clara, & Ava (twin daughters).
