Register for Workshop #2 and receive a recording of Workshop #1 so you’ll be fully prepared!

Second Session: May 18th – 6:00 – 7:30 pm

After 13 months of educating, working and living in a global pandemic, we all have a story to tell. An awkward moment with a Physics class on Zoom; an astute reflection from a third grader; a mask fiasco; a hopeful moment with a colleague: these stories tell the truth of the past year.

CAIS invites you to do it Moth style! Join internationally bestselling author and 46-time Moth StorySLAM champion (and Connecticut elementary school teacher!), Matthew Dicks, for a two-part virtual workshop on telling your story.

Workshop 1: FIND YOUR STORY Tuesday, May 11th

The first workshop helps you find, tell, and process your experience during the pandemic, with the understanding that storytelling can help in contextualizing, reframing, and healing. Other members of your household are welcome to join this workshop!

Workshop 2: CRAFTING YOUR STORY Tuesday, May 18th
The second workshop teaches the actual crafting of stories. These are foundational workshops designed to give all attendees a basic understanding of storytelling, establish common vocabulary and definitions, and impart simple, immediately actionable strategies for the finding and telling of their best stories, while also providing space to reflect, collect, and archive stories from the life you’ve lived this past year.
